The Smoking Camel’s Menu Just Levelled Up

There’s something about the rhythm of the season that calls for a refresh. At The Smoking Camel, we’ve answered with bold new dishes, knockout cocktails, and a few menu additions that speak to the heart of our Middle Eastern-inspired kitchen.
Located in the heart of Byron, The Smoking Camel has fast become a go-to Byron Bay restaurant for those craving share-style feasts, vibrant flavours and late-night energy. Our new menu continues that tradition with a few fresh twists.
Start strong with the Cumin Lamb Dumplings, swimming in garlic sauce and finished with pine nut chilli crunch. Rich, fragrant, and deeply satisfying, they’re quickly becoming a go-to starter. BBQ Scallops arrive next, kissed by the grill and served just-so. And for those after something hearty? The new Wagyu Rump doesn’t hold back with grilled onions, baharat butter, and a silky jus make this a standout.
Of course, fried chicken rarely flies under the radar and our Persian Fried Chicken is no exception. Crisp, golden, and spiced with just enough heat, it’s served with guindilla, curry leaf, and harissa mayo. Trust us, one serve may not be enough.
On the cocktail front, we’ve added a few fresh favourites to the mix and none more indulgent than the Pistachio Martini. A blend of pistachio cream, vanilla vodka, and white chocolate liqueur with a pistachio rim, it’s a little bit decadent, a lot irresistible, and made to impress.
So whether you’re planning your next night out or just looking for the best restaurant in Byron Bay to kick off the weekend, the new menu at The Smoking Camel is reason enough to book a table. We’ll take care of the rest.
